NEW YORK, September 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — AXS Investments, a leading investment manager providing access to alternative investments for growth, income and diversification, today announced the tenth anniversary of the AXS Chesapeake Strategy Fund (EQCHX).

Over the past 10 years, the strategy has been tried and stress tested through various market cycles. Notably, as of 15/09/22 the EQCHX is up 21.67% year-to-date while the S&P is down -18.66%, with this 40.33% spread in large part due to the weighting of equity markets this year due to inflation, rising interest rates, geopolitical tensions, etc. are other factors, while EQCHX has benefited from its non-correlation and lower volatility versus these broader equity markets.

The AXS Chesapeake Strategy Fund was recently named a finalist in the 2022 Annual HFM US Performance Awards in two categories: Best ’40 Act Fund and Best Quantitative Strategy Under 1 billion dollars in the AUM.

“We are very excited to celebrate EQCHX’s 10th anniversary with Chesapeake Capital, a true industry pioneer in this space,” he said Gregory Bassuk, Chief Executive Officer of AXS Investments. “The fund has helped investors access strong risk-adjusted returns with low correlation to traditional assets, which has helped produce a number of portfolio diversification outcomes. As the industry’s only pure-play alternative to traditional equity and bond investing, we’re proud to offer this proven exposure, especially during periods of market stress like 2022, where proven liquid alternative strategies like EQCHX can shine.”

The fund is managed by Jerry Parker and Mike Ivie at leading institutional manager Chesapeake Capital, which employs a long-term trend-following strategy with the goal of generating uncorrelated returns through a consistent approach across more than 100 global markets in variable market conditions.

“The fund’s performance over the past decade has demonstrated the benefits of a consistent, diversified and disciplined approach when applying a long-term trend-following strategy,” he said Jerry Parker, portfolio manager of EQCHX and CEO of Chesapeake Capital. “Now more than ever, investors are excited about alternative strategies like these that offer a differentiated stream of returns while potentially performing strongly when equities and bonds struggle.”
